The Lollipop Tree Branches Out! Increases Production, Opens Distribution Center, Expands Product Line and Doubles Employee Base

PORTSMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE — June 25, 2008 — The Lollipop Tree, a specialty food manufacturer that offers a selection of specialty baking mixes, pepper jellies, jams, dessert sauces, grilling sauces and syrups, announces its year-long plan to expand the company’s resources to meet the growing needs of its customers. The company, which is located in the historic seaport of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is expecting extraordinary growth in both the branded and private-label sides of their business.

The Lollipop Tree began its expansion efforts this spring when they increased their production operation from two to four dry mix production lines and doubled the cooking capacity for its wet products. These changes have allowed the company to quadruple the output of both its dry and wet products to meet the increasing number of orders from existing and new customers. In addition, the company acquired a 48,000 square foot distribution center with six loading docks in Dover, New Hampshire. The distribution center will accommodate the increased volume of products shipping to both their branded and private-label customers. The facility will also support receiving of ingredients and packaging.

The company has developed 80 new specialty food products this year and is in the process of developing 90 more products before year-end. Eighty-three of the new products will be under the LollipopTree® brand and 87 for private- label customers.

To manage its growth, The Lollipop Tree plans to double its employee base. Starting 2008 with approximately 35 full-time employees, The Lollipop Tree has already grown to over 55 full-time employees and will hire approximately 15 more employees by the end of the year.

In addition to the expansion of the production facility, The Lollipop Tree will triple the size of its Factory Store. The build-out of the store will include a welcome center to accommodate tour groups, a conference room, a sampling area and additional shelf space for products and gift assortments which will be available for in-store purchase or immediate shipment to anywhere in the United States. The renovation of the Portsmouth, New Hampshire facility will also include expanding and improving the corporate offices, the research and development kitchen, the quality assurance lab and employee amenities.
