THE LOLLIPOP TREE INTRODUCES TWO NEW ORGANIC PRODUCT LINES AT THE SUMMER FANCY FOOD SHOW
PORTSMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE — June 25, 2008 — This month, The Lollipop Tree, a specialty food manufacturer that offers a selection of specialty baking mixes, pepper jellies, jams, dessert sauces, grilling sauces and syrups, completed its first step in its commitment to going organic. The company, which is located in the historic seaport of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, has completed the reformulation of its product lines to include organic ingredients and will introduce nine new organic products at the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade’s (NASFT) Fancy Food Show in New York City on June 29 – July 1, 2008. The transition, which has been under way since last year, was marked by the company’s recent certification with the Quality Assurance International (QAI), which adheres to strict organic standards.
The Lollipop Tree will introduce two new organic product lines at this year’s Summer Fancy Food Show. Their Organic Artisan Bread Mix line features Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread Mix, Cracked Wheat Bread Mix, Rosemary Garlic Bread Mix and Asiago Tomato Bread Mix. These breads can be made using either yeast or beer. Their new Organic Classic Baking Mix line includes Buttermilk Biscuit Mix, Cornbread Mix and Popover Mix and features two distinctly different recipes on each package. They also will showcase their new Organic Three Cheese Pizza Monkey Bread Mix and a reformulated Organic Buttermilk Pancake Mix. Additionally, the company’s specialty baking mixes now contain a minimum of 70% organic ingredients. Their jams, jellies, dessert sauces, grilling sauces and syrups are now made with organic ingredients.
The Lollipop Tree maintains a long-term goal of making all of its products 100% organic. In some cases, organically grown alternatives are not readily available or are not economically feasible at this time. However, The Lollipop Tree is committed to using organic ingredients whenever reasonable organic alternatives are available.
